Description: About ## km of trail loops; Some trails are being re-routed in fall 2026 due to areas being made off-limits by the Department of Corrections; Orchard Loop, Warm-Up and Hilltop are primarily affected.
The direction of Balto’s Dog Loop has been reversed for safety, and to make it more fun. If possible, classic tracks will be added to this trail in 2026-27.
Orchard Loop will now begin and end at the parking area. New two-way trail has being constructed to connect the parking area with the original hub of trails (Warm-Up Loop, Hilltop and Balto’s Dog Loop). New maps to be provided as soon as we can make them!
The trails are mostly easy to intermediate, with a few challenging hills. The Trails run on land that was formerly a farm and take skiers through pastures, forests, and apple orchards, including some scenic woods and great hills. The trail is located near the Minnesota Correctional Facility (St. Cloud Penitentiary), about a mile from the Mississippi River. Do not trespass onto adjoining Department of Corrections property; please pay attention to the red signs.
